The 2022 Slate
So. 2022.
Wow.
I guess the fact that I’m posting this means that 2021 is over. It didn’t exactly go as planned. But I’ve already waxed about this in my last blog post, back in October. Not sure what I was thinking, posting that two months ago. Anyway, here we are.
Going forward, Foreign Press has decided to push ourselves, try new things, to print more than we have in the past. So we’re going quarterly! We have four projects coming out in 2022, but we’re still going to keep doing podcasts, small things here and there, but we’re restricting ourselves to four main projects. So we’re starting spring of 2022 with our next book, Valkyrian.
Valkyrian is the story of Emi, the latest in a long line of soldiers, and a member of the top-secret, highly-skilled Valkyries. When she and her team are sent to stop a fascist government takeover, Emi is forced to ask herself how far she’s willing to go to call herself a good soldier.
Our summer 2022 book is a re-launch of our anthology from last year, Fletcher Cross: The Multiverse Awaits.
Yeah, you may think it’s still the same old book, but changes are being made to the book now, from the cover to the stories to the campaign itself. We still believe in the book and the people who helped to make it a reality, and know that it can be a real game-changer. It may or may not be coming to Kickstarter, what with the recent Kickstarter announcements, but all of that is to be determined.
Next up, in the fall of 2022, comes a brand new book, 1001 Infinity Street.
The house at 1001 Infinity Street sits on a temporal nexus, and has become a safehouse of sorts for time travelers. Trevian is the house’s keeper, as well as its maid, bartender, and handiman, but the one thing he is not is a time traveler himself: at least not anymore. As these travelers come from across time, Trevian is dragged into their journeys, from helping starcrossed lovers to attempting to stop the apocalypse.
Finally in winter 2022, Outlaw Country is back.
That’s right. It’s back. Your favorite country music, neo-western is back with issue 3, as well as re-mastered full versions of issues 1 and 2. The country-music-inspired story of three best friends from small town Oklahoma, who come back together after years apart in an attempt to make things right for someone they lost years ago, resorting to terrible lengths to do so.
And that’s it. As I said earlier in this post, we’re still going to open submissions for some new projects, we’ll keep doing the podcast, and we’ll keep doing some of what we’ve already been doing on social media in 2021, like the #mondayadvice threads on Twitter with more to come, and maybe a Tiktok account? I guess we’ll just have to see.
Much love.
Kylar
P.S. Keep an eye out for our Voyagers program, because it’s coming soon, and it’s big.
Very big.
